District 7 Representatives

Meet Austin and Payton

Austin and Payton Sinders

Austin and Payton Sinders, Clay County, are the District 7 representatives on the Young Farmers & Ag Professional State Committee. Austin attended Vincennes University and received his associate degree in Diesel Tech and earned a bachelor’s in Tech Management. Austin is the shop foreman/lead mechanic at Clay County Highway Garage and Payton is a stay-at-home mom and a virtual assistant and graphic designer for a podcast production company. They have three children, Tucker, Eli and Sadie.

They joined the state committee because they wanted to broaden their knowledge of what Farm Bureau does and stands for, as well as to help young farmers and ag professionals. They also were drawn in by the opportunity for networking. Their future goals for Farm Bureau are to continue to grow, as well as bring awareness to others about what Farm Bureau does. They hope to continue to work toward being as self-sustaining on the farm as possible, as well as raise a happy, healthy Christian family.

Austin & Payton’s advice for someone who is interested in getting involved in YF&AP is:

“We would recommend if someone is interested, they should get involved. It is a great opportunity to work with like-minded people and to create change in policy that makes a difference for young farmers and ag professionals, while also having the opportunity to travel and meet people from all over the state.”

The Sinderses represent members in Clay, Daviess, Green, Knox, Lawrence, Martin, Monroe, Owen, Sullivan and Vigo counties.
