District 5 Representatives

Meet Collin and Katie

Collin and Katie Pennington

Collin and Katie Pennington, Putnam County, are the District 5 representatives on the Young Farmers & Ag Professionals State Committee.

Collin attended Parkland College and received his A.A.S. in Case New Holland Service Technician, while Katie attended Lake Land College and received her A.A.S. in Agriculture Business Management. Both Katie and Collin are full-time farmers at their respective family farms.

They joined the state committee because they wanted to help connect with young farmers and agriculture professionals. They were also interested in helping further the mission of the Young Farmers & Ag Professionals committee. Collin and Katie shared:

“We would recommend getting involved in YF&AP to everyone. Since we started becoming interested in this we have been advocating and working towards more community and connections with young farmers and those who work in the ag sector. We know first-hand how isolating it can be to work in ag and we would just push how important it is to have those connections with people who understand what you’re going through.”

The Penningtons represent members in Boone, Fountain, Hendricks, Montgomery, Morgan, Parke, Putnam, Vermillion and Warren counties.
