Application deadline for YF&AP awards is May 1

Mar 23, 2020, 12:49 PM by Kathleen M. Dutro, INFB Marketing Team

Members between the ages of 18 and 35 have until May 1 to apply for two of Indiana Farm Bureau’s top honors: the Young Farmers & Ag Professionals Achievement and Excellence in Agriculture awards.

Winners and runners-up in both contests are eligible for cash and other prizes. The winners also will receive an expense-paid trip to the American Farm Bureau Federation’s 2021 convention in San Diego, California.

Eligible applicants must be voting members of INFB between the ages of 18 and 35 as of Jan. 31, 2021, and they must also be Indiana residents.

  • The Achievement Award recognizes outstanding young Farm Bureau members who earn the majority of income from production agriculture and whose farm management techniques and commitment to their communities set a positive example for others involved in agriculture. The winners will receive a $6,000 cash prize from Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, 250 hours’ free use of an M-Series tractor, courtesy of Kubota Tractor, and the David L. Leising Memorial Award.
  • The Excellence in Agriculture Award recognizes outstanding INFB members who do not derive the majority of their income from a production agriculture operation they own but who actively contribute and grow their involvement in Farm Bureau and agriculture. The winners will receive a John Deere Gator, courtesy of Farm Credit Services, and a $3,000 cash prize from Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance.

Runners-up in both contests receive a $1,000 cash prize from Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance.

All applications must be submitted via the online portal no later than May 1 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Scanned or emailed entries will not be accepted.

Information on the YF&AP Achievement and Excellence in Agriculture awards, as well as contest applications, are available on INFB’s website.
