There’s a new name in “The Hoosier Farmer” staff box, and it’s Robert Herrington, Indiana Farm Bureau’s member communications manager.
Herrington is replacing Kathleen Dutro, publications managing editor, who is retiring Dec. 1 after 30 years with INFB.
In his new role, Herrington will oversee “The Hoosier Farmer,” “My Indiana Home,” the digital versions of these publications and other electronic publications. He will also act as staff photographer, as needed.
Prior to Farm Bureau, Herrington was for the last decade the communications manager/press secretary at the City of Noblesville. Before that, he worked for more than 10 years as a journalist and managing editor for newspapers in Hamilton County.
Herrington studied journalism at Indiana State University, where he edited the student newspaper. He has lived in Noblesville since 1994, but before that, he and his family traveled up and down the East Coast due to his father’s service in the Marine Corps.
He and his wife, Maggie, live in Noblesville with their four children: Caroline, Ainsley, Robert and Darcy. Herrington serves as the cubmaster for Cub Scout Pack 103 and as president of the governing council at his church, Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Noblesville. His in-laws are farmers in Sheridan, Indiana.
