Annual state fair food event to be presented Aug. 7-10

May 19, 2025, 11:49 AM by Kathleen M. Dutro

Taste From Indiana Farms (TFIF), an annual event sponsored by the Indiana Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee during the Indiana State Fair, will be presented again this year, and the WLC is seeking members who are willing to volunteer and help staff the event.

TFIF is INFB’s largest consumer-facing event. It will be held on the VIP Balcony in the Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion Thursday-Sunday, Aug. 7-10, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The state fair itself is Aug. 1-17.

The purpose of TFIF is to demonstrate the wide array of foods grown in Indiana by offering fairgoers free samples of representative products. Last year, nearly 9,800 people came to the event, receiving food samples and educational facts relating to each commodity.

In 2024, 160 volunteers helped make the event possible. Shifts for volunteers run from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Each volunteer will receive one electronic admission ticket to the state fair, a meal voucher that can be redeemed at the beef, pork or dairy tents, plus a thank-you gift.

If you are interested in volunteering for TFIF, visit INFB’s website. For additional information, contact your district education and outreach coordinator (infb.org/deoc) or write to INFB’s education and engagement team at engagement@infb.org.
