The Indiana Farm Bureau board of directors has identified the organization’s top legislative priorities for the 2024 session of the Indiana General Assembly.

The priorities are:

• Rural viability – Among the issues covered under this topic are rural infrastructure, emergency services, workforce development, career and technical education (CTE), child care and food security.
• Land use and property rights, a category that includes water, foreign ownership of farmland and farmland preservation.
• Taxation and fiscal policy, which covers property taxes and state and local tax system reform.

INFB is in the process of forming two new task forces that will consider emerging issues involving state and local tax reform and water. The INFB public policy team plans to have these task forces begin meeting in November and December.
