Top county YF&AP programs to be recognized

Aug 30, 2023, 11:40 AM by Kathleen M. Dutro, INFB Marketing Team

Outstanding county Young Farmers & Ag Professionals programs will be recognized at next year's YF&AP conference, and counties that want to be considered need to apply by Oct. 31.

All activities must be completed by Sept. 30 to count toward this award.

Awards will be given to the top three county YF&AP programs. Of the top three counties, the highest scoring county will be awarded $1,000 to take back to its county Farm Bureau. The two runners-up will be awarded $500. These funds will be allocated to improve an existing program or aid in the creation of a new YF&AP county program/event.

          In addition:

  • One county will be recognized as “Most Improved,” based on a comparison of their current score with the score from the two previous applications.
  • Up to three counties can be recognized with the Awakening Award, which recognizes county YF&AP programs that are new or have not applied for the contest in the last three years.
  • Counties also may receive recognition for the most volunteer hours, dollars and pounds of food donated to the Feeding America food bank or an affiliate.

Applications must be submitted through INFB’s website. Find more information about the award in the YF&AP “ Awards and Competitions” section of INFB’s website.

All the winning counties will be recognized at next year's YF&AP Conference, to be held Friday, Feb. 9, through Sunday, Feb. 11.
