Each year, two Purdue University students are recognized with the Indiana Farm Bureau Outstanding Senior in Agricultural Communication Scholarship.
The 2023 recipients are Melanie Hasler of Hope, Indiana, and Allison Lund of Cambridge, Wisconsin.
Hasler enjoys working on projects involving social media advocacy for agriculture, and she also enjoys making promotional videos and photography. She hopes to work for an agency or business with a focus on agriculture.
Lund has used her time at Purdue to gain experience in agricultural journalism and farm broadcasting. She hopes to pursue a career in agricultural journalism, specifically at a farm publication in Indiana.
The scholarships are $500 each and are provided by INFB. They reward a qualified senior for outstanding contributions to the public understanding of agriculture, academic performance, and involvement in professional and community activities.
