A new leadership development program for Indiana Farm Bureau members will debut soon, and interested members can apply online starting Jan. 1.
Called LEAD, short for “Leadership-Education-Action-Development,” it combines elements of two former INFB programs, Leaders in Action and the ACE Ambassador program. Participants will attend three sessions where they’ll receive training in communication, engaging with legislators and building a leadership brand.
Participants also will learn about the diversity of Indiana agriculture through farm and industry tours as well as a visit to the Indiana Statehouse. The group will have the opportunity to go on a four-day, out-of-state visit to learn about additional diverse agricultural industries and programs.
“As we continue to develop educational and leadership development programming, we have found that members are looking for more opportunities to get involved and take the ‘next step’ within Farm Bureau,” said Brandon Rice, INFB’s leadership development coordinator. “This program allows our members to take that next step, and our goal is that it also helps develop the next group of Farm Bureau leaders.”
More information on the program will be posted on INFB’s website in early December at www.infb.org/lead.
