Applications are now available online for the 2020-2021 Indiana Farm Bureau Outstanding County Young Farmer & Ag Professionals awards program.
The awards program recognizes county YF&AP committees that have done an outstanding job of promoting agriculture and Farm Bureau in their counties.
The awards have been revamped for this year with new prizes and a new point system.
County YF&AP programs will be recognized for the following:
- Scoring among the top three county YF&AP programs using the contest’s revamped point system. The highest scoring county will receive $1,000 that can be used by the county Farm Bureau to create or improve a YF&AP program or event. The two runners-up will be awarded $500.
- Most improved county YF&AP program. This designation will be awarded to the county that has the greatest increase in its score, based upon a comparison of the previous two application forms.
- The Awakening Award. Up to three counties may receive this award, which recognizes county YF&AP programs that are new or have not applied for the contest in the last three years.
Counties may also receive recognition for the most volunteer hours, dollars and pounds of food donated to the Feeding America Food Bank or affiliate.
Applications are due by Sept. 30. The awards will be presented during the INFB Young Farmers & Ag Professionals Conference, held annually at the end of January.
