The newest member of the marketing team is Brady Hagerty, who joined Indiana Farm Bureau in November as public relations manager-public policy. In this position, he works closely with the public policy team, the marketing team and media to share news and stories that impact members.
“Most importantly, I will play a small role in helping our members engage with and speak on issues that are important to them,” Hagerty said.
He replaces Garrett Kelly, who was recently promoted to the position of managing editor-digital and video.
Hagerty graduated from Wabash College in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in English, and he began his career at the Indiana Statehouse, where he served as the press secretary and, eventually, senior press secretary for the Indiana State Senate.
He then served the Indiana Department of Environmental Management as public information officer, providing educational outreach and media relations for the agency. Just prior to coming to Farm Bureau, he was a marketing associate at Knowledge Services, a local technology and workforce solutions company.
“I’m looking forward to assisting the public policy team with media outreach as well as helping farmers across the state advocate for issues they care about,” he said.
A native of Indianapolis, he lives in the Broad Ripple area of the city with his wife, Brandi, and a one-eyed, bulldog mix named Piper. In his spare time, Hagerty volunteers at the Indianapolis Animal Shelter, coaches youth basketball, and enjoys playing basketball, football and tennis.
He also is an alumnus of the FBI Citizens Academy.
