Indiana Farm Bureau has identified specific strategic goals for 2020, said Megan Ritter, INFB executive director of administration. Among these are:
A major goal, Ritter added, is to help farmers succeed by creating programs and initiatives that meet their needs and goals. Among the program areas INFB sees a special need for, she explained, are a program that addresses farmers’ goals of financial sustainability, risk management and managing through challenging times; a program for agricultural employers that addresses domestic labor issues, including H2A challenges; a program for farmers looking to diversify farm income through organics, farmers markets, agritourism, locally grown or other value-added ag enterprises; and information about mental health resources.
“Our goals are all about serving our members,” she said.
