Indiana’s Fayette County Farm Bureau will be among 24 county Farm Bureaus honored by the American Farm Bureau Federation for innovative program ideas in the organization’s County Activities of Excellence (CAE) awards program.
Fayette County Farm Bureau is being honored for its “History of Agriculture – Past, Present and Future” program, held May 17-19, 2019. In conjunction with a local TV station, the Farm Bureau interviewed 12 local farm families and produced a video that was shown during the three-day celebration, which was in honor of the 200th anniversary of the founding of Fayette County.
The event also included posters highlighting local farming history and displays of early farming tools and equipment. The county Farm Bureau partnered with the local FFA to host Ag Day as part of the multi-day celebration.
Fayette County and the other winners will be highlighted during AFBF’s 2020 Annual Convention & IDEAg Trade Show, which will be held Jan. 17-22 in Austin, Texas. Select members of Fayette County Farm Bureau will travel to the convention and host a booth at the trade show where they will share their ideas with Farm Bureau members from across the country.
The CAE awards celebrate unique, volunteer-driven programming at the local level. More than 100 county Farm Bureaus across the country and across all membership categories applied for the award.
