The American Farm Bureau Federation has released a proposal for the future of U.S. milk-pricing provisions and marketing-order reform.
Federal milk marketing orders have been a pillar of the dairy industry for more than 80 years, but the program has not changed substantially in nearly two decades. A working group of Farm Bureau grassroots leaders and other contributors prepared the report after consultation with industry and academia.
Farm Bureau leaders will convene in January to consider these policy recommendations. A copy of the report can be found by reading AFBF’s news release on the recommendations.
