(Indianapolis) – Nov. 28, 2022 - Indiana Farm Bureau welcomed Steven Allen to its staff as the Indiana Farm Bureau Health Plans manager. In this role, Allen oversees INFB Health Plans, and his duties include development and execution of the plans as well as training Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance personnel to deliver the plans.

“Health care is one of the most important aspects of individuals’ and families’ wellbeing,” said Allen. “Finding a health plan that is not only more affordable but suits their coverage needs is critical, and I am excited to lead this growing initiative for INFB.”

INFB Health Plans launched in October 2020 and include a package of health care coverage options for members, including individual and family health coverage plans, Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans and dental/vision coverage.

INFB Health Plans have over 3,000 enrolled plans, which equates to more than 6,800 Hoosiers covered.

From January 2021 through October 2022, enrollment in INFB Health Plans totaled 3,081 active plans. The current breakdown of coverage for those plan holders includes:

  • 2,447 Traditional Health Plans, (both individual and family plans);
  • 467 dental and vision plans; and
  • 167 Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans.

In addition to his focus on delivering the health benefits to INFB members, Allen will build stakeholder relationships, support internal distribution channels and increase awareness of the plans.

Prior to joining INFB, Allen owned a successful insurance agency in Kokomo. Before that, he had a career in technical college administration, with positions including area president of the Daymar College Group in Nashville, Tennessee, and recruiting and director roles at ITT Technical Institute in Indianapolis and Louisville. He has a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and an MBA from Kaplan University.

“I continue to hear positive feedback from members that INFB Health Plans offer more affordable, dependable health care,” said Randy Kron, INFB president. “We wanted to make sure we had the right person to take over this role, and Steve was a great fit. His background and professional experience give him the skills to deliver outstanding service for this member benefit.”

Allen replaces Patrick Williams who previously served as health plans manager.
