(Indianapolis) – Jan. 18, 2022 – Indiana Farm Bureau today announced Indiana Farm Bureau Health Plans, a suite of more affordable health care offerings, now have over 2,100 active plans in place. That equates to nearly 5,000 Indiana lives covered.

From Jan. 1, 2021 through Dec. 31, 2021, enrollment in INFB Health Plans totaled 2,119 enrolled plans. The current breakdown of coverage for those plan holders includes:

  • 1,700 Traditional Health Plans, which includes both individual and family plans;
  • 303 dental and vision plans; and
  • 116 Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans.

Marion County had the most plans issued in 2021 with 80 plans, followed closely by Hamilton County with 79 plans. A number of counties along the Indiana border, such as Knox, LaPorte, Porter, Vanderburgh, Lake, Posey, Allen and Benton counties also had a significant number of enrolled plans.

“We are happy with the progress of INFB Health Plans during the first year coverage was available,” said Patrick Williams, INFB Health Plans manager. “As you can see by the numbers, members have embraced this offering. In fact, the high number of plans along the state border is likely due to the availability of nationwide in-network providers via UnitedHealthcare, which allows members to cross state lines to receive medical treatment, second opinions and travel freely without fear of being out-of-network.”

INFB Health Plans announced a new offering available in 2022 — a partnership with Maven Maternity.

Maven Maternity offers a variety of resources for expectant mothers, including access to maternity care advocates, on-demand virtual appointments and educational content. The digital maternity program also provides the following:

  • A personal healthcare advocate available 24/7 to answer questions about pregnancy, benefits and recommend practitioners.
  • Free, unlimited coaching, educational video chats and messaging with top-rated practitioners in over 30 specialties, such as OB-GYNs, doulas, lactation consultants, mental health providers, nutritionists, career coaches and more.
  • Expert resources on topics, including weekly tips, articles, and webinars, plus a supportive community forum.

Finally, INFB Health Plans will not raise rates for Traditional Health Plans, which provide health coverage options for individuals and families, for the 2022 calendar year.

“We are excited to provide savings and new offerings in 2022,” concluded Williams. “We are always looking for new ways to serve our members better and to reduce their out-of-pocket costs wherever possible.”
