Indiana Farm Bureau President Randy Kron shares a statement about the federal government officially reopening as of last night:
Indiana Farm Bureau applauds Congress for coming to an agreement to open federal government operations again. Hoosier farmers can once again rely on USDA’s full services to keep their farms running. However, low crop prices, high input costs and trade uncertainty have pushed many farms to the brink this year, threatening the future of U.S. agriculture. Now we urge congressional leadership to continue their momentum and provide more certainty for farmers by passing meaningful policy solutions, such as passing a farm bill, supporting year-round sales of E15, and putting an end to California’s Proposition 12.
