INFB member reaches finals in YF&R Discussion Meet

Mar 26, 2025, 13:32 PM by Kathleen M. Dutro, INFB Marketing Team

Lilly Pryor of Johnson County, Indiana, made it to the Final Four round of the American Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers Collegiate Discussion Meet.

The Collegiate Discussion Meet was held during AFBF’s FUSION Conference, March 7-10 in Denver.

The winner was Callie Robinson of Tennessee. Thirty-five competitors participated in this year’s meet. All competitors (including the four finalists) received a $100 scholarship courtesy of CHS Foundation in recognition of their efforts and making it to the national level, and those advancing to the “Sweet 16” round received an additional $500 scholarship. Pryor and the other competitors who made it to the Final Four round earned a total of $2,100 each in scholarship funds courtesy of CHS Foundation.

Pryor will graduate from Huntington University in December 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in both agriculture education and agribusiness communications. She qualified for the YF&R Collegiate Discussion Meet by first winning INFB’s Collegiate Discussion Meet last November.

The Collegiate Discussion Meet is designed to replicate a committee meeting where discussion and active participation are expected from each collegiate participant. Participants are judged on their ability to exchange ideas and information on an agricultural topic and find answers or solutions related to it.

AFBF’s YF&R program engages young Farm Bureau members between the ages of 18-35 by offering opportunities to develop as strong, effective leaders for service in both Farm Bureau and their communities.
