Application period opens Jan. 1 for INFB leadership development program

Oct 28, 2024, 10:21 AM by Kathleen M. Dutro, INFB Marketing Team

The application period opens Jan. 1 for L.E.A.D., Indiana Farm Bureau’s leadership development program.

L.E.A.D. (short for “Leadership. Education. Action. Development.”) is offered every other year. It is a cohort-based leadership development program designed for INFB members.

Candidates should be interested in enhancing their leadership skills, building their professional network, and understanding Farm Bureau, the ag ecosystem and its impacts on the agricultural industry.

Those selected for the program will be required to attend five sessions during 2025. These sessions will help them to:

  • Expand their agricultural and policy knowledge, including through farm tours, industry tours, and local and state legislative activities.
  • Grow as leaders within INFB.
  • Learn about a variety of Indiana commodities and agricultural practices.
  • Become more effective leaders at the local, state and national levels.
  • Have clear communication and presentation skills to tell the story of agriculture.

An out-of-state trip also is part of the program’s curriculum to help participants learn about additional diverse agricultural industries and programs.

The cost for the program is $250 per person, and the application period closes on March 7. To be eligible for the program, you must be an INFB member in good standing for at least 30 days.

More information on the program is available on INFB’s website, www.infb.org/lead. A link for applications will be added to the site in December.
