Faces of Farm Bureau: Introducing Kayla Meyers, District 1 education and outreach coordinator

Jan 29, 2024, 10:05 AM by Colleen Settle, INFB Marketing Team

Joining the INFB Women’s Leadership Committee is Kayla Meyers, who is the new District 1 education and outreach coordinator.

In her new role, Meyers represents Fulton, Lake, LaPorte, Marshall, Porter, Pulaski, St. Joseph and Starke counties. She officially took office at the close of INFB’s 2023 State Convention, replacing Jan Bohling, whose term had ended.

Prior to being elected to district office, Meyers served as the LaPorte County Farm Bureau treasurer and, most recently, the county education and outreach coordinator from 2017 to 2023.

Meyers and her husband, Ron, farm in Westville, Indiana, with their two sons. They raise corn, seed corn and soybeans. In addition to helping on the farm, Meyers has for 20 years driven a school bus.

She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology/behavioral science and minors in clerical business and physical education.

Her community involvement includes serving as vice president and president of her local Tri-Kappa chapter and chairing the milk cabin event at the LaPorte County Fair. She is very involved in her church, organizing summer Bible schools and serving on missions boards.

In addition to two sons, the Meyerses have a grown daughter, as well as four grandchildren with a fifth on the way. Meyers’ hobbies include crafting and sewing, and she enjoys traveling and babysitting her grandchildren.
