Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion: Taste From Indiana Farms among the events to be held at new facility

Jul 10, 2023, 10:38 AM by Kathleen M. Dutro, INFB Marketing Team

The Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion officially opens July 28, the first day of the state fair.

The pavilion, one of the latest products of INFB's long-time partnership with the Indiana State Fair, is constructed on the site of the former Swine Barn, which was built in 1923. The new building will be a “best-in-class” livestock facility, says Ray Allison, chief development and strategy officer for the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center.

But like all the fairgrounds’ newer buildings, it also will be multiuse, making it suitable for a variety of events throughout the year.

Aside from extensive facilities for livestock shows, including a 117,000-square-foot show floor, 1,400 livestock pens, two show rings and seating for more than 1,100 people, the building also will house other attractions, including a permanent educational exhibit created in partnership with INFB and the Indiana Pork Producers Association.

And it will be the site of this year’s Taste From Indiana Farms (TFIF), an annual event sponsored by the Indiana Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee. TFIF will be held Thursday, Aug. 10, through Sunday, Aug. 13, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Members can still volunteer for the event. Shifts for volunteers will run from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Each volunteer will receive one admission ticket to the state fair, a meal voucher that can be redeemed at the beef or pork tents plus a thank-you gift.

If you are interested in volunteering, the link to register can be found here. Reach out to your district education and outreach coordinator with any additional questions. Information on the DEOCs is available at www.infb.org/deoc or by writing to engagement@infb.org.
