INFB connects with youth, consumers during 2022 state fair

Oct 3, 2022, 15:36 PM by Kathleen M. Dutro

Indiana Farm Bureau focused on connecting with youth and consumers during the 2022 Indiana State Fair, which ended Aug. 20.

Taste From Indiana Farms, which is sponsored by INFB’s Women’s Leadership Committee, was held in the Indiana Arts Building, a new location this year. A total of 128 volunteers participated in the event, which was visited by 5,140 consumers during its three-day run. Each fairgoer who visited received samples of six different foods – beef sticks, string cheese, honey, roasted soybeans, corn chips and popcorn – as well as information about Indiana agriculture.

INFB continued its sponsorship of the Exhibitor Experience as well as the Supreme Drive and showmanship contests. Prizes distributed by INFB included six showboxes for the supreme champion specie winners; eight director chairs for the supreme showmanship winners; 48 luggage bags for the champion showmanship division winners of all species; and 34 book bags for reserve champion showmanship division winners (all species).

The organization also awarded 400 vinyl banners to showmanship breed and division grand and reserve grand champions (all species); 380 feed scoops to the grand and reserve showmanship winners; and approximately 3,000 T-shirts, which were distributed to all exhibitors.
