Changes made to INFB’s lobbying team

Oct 3, 2022, 16:21 PM by Kathleen M. Dutro

Two changes have recently been made to Indiana Farm Bureau’s lobbying team, said Andy Tauer, INFB’s executive director of public policy:

  • Jeff Cummins, who has served as associate director of policy engagement since 2019, has been promoted to director of state government affairs, environment and natural resources.
  • Brantley Seifers, who joined INFB in 2021 as state government relations policy advisor, now serves as INFB’s national affairs coordinator.

In his new role, Cummins handles many of INFB’s policy and regulatory priorities with a focus on environmental and natural resource issues. The environmental issues range from Waters of the U.S. at the federal level as well as wetlands and pesticide issues at the state level, while natural resource issues range from drainage to regulation of state and local waterways.

He also is active in zoning and land-use issues as they affect environmental and energy projects, and he helps manage AgELECT, INFB’s political action committee that focuses on candidate endorsements and issues.

Seifers coordinates all of INFB’s federal lobbying activities in Washington, DC, and serves as the organization’s lead contact for federal policy issues, congressional offices and federal agencies. He also will continue to work at the Indiana Statehouse as a member of INFB’s lobbying team, focusing on transportation and infrastructure issues.
