County Farm Bureaus have until Sept. 1 to apply for the American Farm Bureau Federation County Activities of Excellence (CAE) award.
The CAE awards celebrate unique, volunteer-driven programming at the local level. The program categorizes county activities into the following areas: education and ag promotion, member services, public relations and information, leadership development and policy implementation.
Up to 24 of the top county Farm Bureau activities in the nation will be showcased through the program. Counties will display their winning activities at the AFBF Annual Convention and Trade Show in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Winning counties will receive up to four free registrations to the annual convention (cost of travel and housing not included) and a $2,250 stipend to apply toward the cost of travel and exhibition.
Questions can be directed to Mary Beth Dale, AFBF program assistant, at maryd@fb.org.
Applications are judged based on county Farm Bureau membership groupings and multi-county collaborative efforts. Each application must be approved by a state CAE coordinator, who will also verify county membership numbers.
For more information, including the program rules and an information flyer, visit the “County Activities of Excellence” section of AFBF’s website.
