Indiana Farm Bureau’s YF&AP State Committee and Women’s Leadership Committee are hosting a joint INFB Advocacy Day on Sunday and Monday, Feb. 6-7, 2022.
The event will include advocacy training and a visit to the Statehouse to connect with legislators.
The focus of the event, said Brandon Rice, INFB leadership development coordinator, is to help members become more effective and comfortable advocating for agriculture and Farm Bureau.
Therefore, the target audience is members with limited advocacy experience who are looking for development opportunities and a chance to network with others from their community.
“Our goal is to help them learn how to tell their story to legislators,” he said.
Among the topics planned for the two-day event are how to approach legislators, how to create and tell your story, and an introduction to General Assembly vocabulary and practices. There also will be opportunities to rehearse some of the techniques that the event will teach.
Participating in INFB Advocacy Day is free but registration is required. For more information, go to www.infb.org/events.
