New INFB site makes it easier to apply for scholarships and grants

Feb 3, 2021, 15:54 PM by Kathleen M. Dutro, INFB Marketing Team

Applications for numerous scholarships and grants are now available through an updated “ Ag Scholarships & Grants” section on INFB's website.

INFB sponsors or co-sponsors scholarships for college-bound youth, current college students and individuals seeking to enhance their careers in agriculture. The organization also provides grants to members and county Farm Bureaus seeking to extend their education outreach in their communities.

District scholarship applications also are available through the site, as are applications for counties that opted to use INFB's electronic platform.

INFB scholarship program

Application deadline March 1

INFB and the Farm Bureau Foundation will award 13 district and state college scholarships to high school seniors and college students for the current school year. The scholarships are the Marion Stackhouse Scholarship; two Collegiate Farm Bureau scholarships available to members of the Collegiate Farm Bureaus at Ancilla College, Huntington University, Purdue University and Vincennes University; and 10 Carolyn Hegel Memorial Scholarships (one per Farm Bureau district).

INFB Career Enrichment Scholarship

Application deadline March 1

Awarded to an adult age 21 years or older who hopes to enrich his or her career through a workshop, seminar, credit or non-credit class, or degree program.

County and district scholarships

Many county and district scholarship applications are included in this online process. The county and district scholarships that have been added to the online process are located in the INFB scholarship program application. Some counties have not yet opted into the online option, but links to those applications are still available on the scholarship/grant section of the website. The application deadline is generally March 1, but there are exceptions.

INFB Community Grant

Provides assistance to county Farm Bureaus that plan to host events that will help further education and networking within the diverse segments of agriculture. Grant applications will be judged quarterly; deadlines are March 31, June 30, Sept. 30 and Dec. 30.

Ag Education and Promotion Development Grant

Provides assistance to county Farm Bureaus or Farm Bureau members and educators who do not have adequate funds for a new program, activity, or to attend an event that enhances the promotion of agriculture and education. Applications are judged twice per year; cycle one grant applications are due April 15, and cycle two grant applications are due Oct. 15.
