Coverage begins for Indiana Farm Bureau Health Plans

Jan 4, 2021, 16:29 PM by Brady Hagerty, INFB Marketing Team

Members with individual or family plans, dental and vision plans, or Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans can begin taking advantage of their health benefits. That’s because coverage with Indiana Farm Bureau Health Plans took effect on Jan. 1.

“From researching and getting legislative approval to developing plans and accepting applications, the launch of coverage is the culminating step in this multi-year process of INFB sponsoring health benefits for members,” said Randy Kron, INFB president. “Our goal from the start was to develop more affordable and reliable health benefits, and I’m proud to say we’ve accomplished that.”

As of mid-December, INFB Health Plans had received approximately 1,200 applications.

On average, when compared to non-subsidized Affordable Care Act plans, INFB members are finding that individual plans are 30-50% less and family plans are 50-70% less.

This holds true for Gene Ferguson from Hancock County, INFB Health Plans’ first covered member.

“After retiring and purchasing health coverage on the marketplace, my premiums were consistently getting more expensive, around a 40% increase year-over-year,” said Ferguson, retired entrepreneur and small business owner. “When I learned about INFB Health Plans and began the process of applying, I was blown away not only by the savings but with how easy the process was. With INFB Health Plans, I’ll be saving 50% per month compared to the marketplace.”

There is no official open enrollment period for INFB Health Plans, so members may apply and receive coverage anytime during the year.

Members who are interested in INFB Health Plans or want to apply can visit www.infbhealthplans.com, call 1-888-964-0854 or visit their local Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance office.

“For members who are self-employed or a sole proprietor, INFB Health Plans is a no-brainer,” added Ferguson.
