Virtual convention to offer some old favorites

Nov 2, 2020, 11:18 AM by Kathleen M. Dutro, INFB Marketing Team

Indiana Farm Bureau’s 2020 all-virtual convention will be different from any convention that has preceded it, but it will still include some of the things that make a convention special, including educational breakout sessions, the delegate session, the Young Farmers & Ag Professionals Discussion Meet, the president’s annual address, and even some live music.

The current plan, said INFB operations and event manager Chris Fenner, is for two virtual sessions. The first will be Dec. 11 from 12:30 to 3 p.m., and the second on Dec. 12 from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Below are some of the highlights of the tentative agenda for this year’s convention. More information, including how to register, the final agenda and how to view the delegate session, will be posted on INFB’s website, www.infb.org/events.

Friday, Dec. 11
12:30 p.m.          General session – Includes President Kron’s annual address and award presentations, as well as live music during the program breaks by Nashville recording artist Levi Riggs.

2:05 p.m.             YF&AP Discussion Meet finals.

2:55 p.m.             Program wrap-up and door prizes announced.

Saturday, Dec. 12

9 a.m.                  Delegate session – Annual meeting and election for 2nd vice president.

10:15 a.m.          Announcement of the winner of the YF&AP Discussion Meet.

10:20 a.m.          Educational breakout sessions.

11:15 a.m.          Educational program “Who’s In, Who’s Out, Who’s Got Clout,” including analysis of the November election in Indiana and nationally and what that means for agriculture in Indiana.

11:55 a.m.          Message from AFBF President Zippy Duval, wrap-up by President Kron and final door prize.

12:15 p.m.          Convention ends.
