AgELECT endorses candidates for 2020 primary

May 6, 2020, 10:35 AM by Brady Hagerty, INFB Marketing Team

AgELECT, Indiana Farm Bureau’s state-level, nonpartisan political action committee, has endorsed 11 candidates seeking election to the Statehouse in the 2020 primary election.

These endorsements are made through a multi-step process, starting with recommendations from INFB members. This format stays true to the grassroots nature of the organization, ensuring that INFB members’ voices are heard by supporting candidates who understand the fundamentals of the Indiana agricultural community.

Listed below are the candidates AgELECT endorsed for the 2020 primary election. In most races one candidate received the endorsements, while in one race, two candidates were endorsed.

Indiana State Senate: Brian Buchanan (R), Senate District 7; Susan Glick (R), Senate District 13.

Indiana House of Representatives: Carolyn Jackson (D), House District 1; Ragen Hatcher (D), House District 3; Brandon Dothager (D) and Tom Wichlinksi (R), both House District 12; Craig Snow (R), House District 18; J.D. Prescott (R), House District 33; Jeff Gormong (R), House District 45; Peggy Mayfield (R), House District 60; and Leah McGrath (R), House District 88.

An AgELECT endorsement signifies the candidates’ support of policies that will foster a positive environment for agriculture and rural communities across the state.

The trustees will be meeting this summer to determine their endorsements for the general election in November.
