A veteran of Indiana state government recently joined Indiana Farm Bureau’s public policy team as associate director for policy engagement.
In his new role, Jeff Cummins handles many of INFB’s policy and regulatory priorities, including lobbying at the Indiana Statehouse during the session that just concluded.
He also will manage AgELECT, the political action committee that focuses on INFB’s state endorsements and issues.
“That will include raising funds for the PAC and working on our grassroots endorsements,” he said.
Cummins is from Austin, Indiana, and earned his undergraduate and law degrees from Indiana University.
Prior to joining INFB, he was with the Indiana State Department of Agriculture for four and a half years, serving in various roles on the policy team but most recently as counsel and legislative director. Prior to that, he spent two years with the Office of the Indiana Attorney General.
“During my undergraduate years, I interned with the Indiana Department of Transportation and with the Indiana General Assembly, so I’ve seen various facets of state government,” he said.
“I hope the members find benefit from my experience in state government in helping them navigate policy and regulatory channels that help them achieve their policy goals,” he added. Cummins noted that he is looking forward to getting to know more of the members and visiting their operations.
