Hoosiers honored at AFBF convention

Mar 23, 2020, 11:05 AM by Kathleen M. Dutro, INFB Marketing Team

Several Indiana Farm Bureau members were recognized at the American Farm Bureau Federation convention, held Jan. 17-22 in Austin, Texas:

  • Margaret Gladden, INFB District 5 education and outreach coordinator, was elected to the AFBF Women’s Leadership Committee.
  • Amie Osborn of Miami County placed third in the AFBF Young Farmers & Ranchers Discussion Meet.
  • Aaron and Lacey Sheller of Hamilton County placed in the top 10 in the YF&R Achievement Award, while Eric and Megan Scheller of Vanderburgh County competed for the YF&R Excellence in Agriculture Award.
  • Fayette County was one of only 24 county Farm Bureaus selected for an AFBF County Activities of Excellence Award. It won the award for “History of Agriculture – Past, Present and Future,” a video produced in honor of the county’s 200th anniversary. Representatives of the Fayette County Farm Bureau traveled to Austin to host an exhibit on the video in the trade show so they could talk about their project with Farm Bureau leaders from across the country.
