Faces of Farm Bureau: Introducing Melinda Finley, administrative assistant for public policy

Oct 1, 2019, 09:03 AM by Olivia Zingraf, Marketing Intern

Melinda Finley joined Indiana Farm Bureau at the end of May as the new administrative assistant for the public policy team.

In her new position, Finley works behind the scenes on administrative needs for policy development. In addition, she assists in AgELECT fundraising efforts and with INFB’s lobbying efforts on the state and federal level.

“In my short time here, I feel I’ve already been able to expand my knowledge on the agricultural needs of our state,” said Finley.

Before Farm Bureau, Finley worked in the city of Greenwood’s public works department for 12 years. She also worked at the Columbus Municipal Airport for seven years.

Finley is a Southport High School graduate. She has two children: Monica, who resides in Shanghai, China, with her husband and has a sixth child on the way; and Derek, an architect in Indianapolis. In her spare time, Finley enjoys gardening, boating and golf.

“Indiana Farm Bureau has a fantastic staff that has made my transition effortless,” said Finley. “I am excited to be a part of the team, and I look forward to serving our members.”

To contact Finley, email her at mfinley@infb.org or call her at 317-692-7834.
