Faces of Farm Bureau: meet Julie Golliher, District 6 education and outreach coordinator

There is a new addition to the Farm Bureau family:  Julie Golliher was recently elected education and outreach coordinator for District 6.

Golliher lives in Wayne County on her family’s farm where they raise corn, soybeans, cattle and hogs. The Gollihers also have a farm-to-table operation where they sell organically processed meats at a local wine bar, senior living center and farmers markets.

In her new role, Golliher represents her district on the State Women’s Leadership Committee, which is dedicated to educating the public with programs and events that promote a positive image of agriculture. The counties she serves are Hamilton, Hancock, Henry, Madison, Marion and Wayne.

“After attending the Women’s Communication Boot Camp leadership training last fall, I became hooked,” Golliher said. “There are so many opportunities, and I can’t wait to assist others in finding their voice.”

When she is not on her farm, Golliher works as an in-home physical therapist for Henry Community Hospital. Graduating in 1998 with an associate’s degree in physical therapy from Ivy Tech, Golliher has over 19 years of experience in that field. Golliher also serves on the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce Agribusiness Committee and helps with her local 4-H program.

Together, Julie and her husband, Brian, have four children: Olivia, 24; Chase, 20; Bess, 10; and Ben, 9. She and her husband have been members of Farm Bureau for two years and are incredibly excited for the new opportunity to educate others about Farm Bureau and agriculture as a whole.
