On Nov. 15, Dull’s Tree Farm near Thorntown, Indiana, was the site of the nationwide kick-off for Trees for Troops, a joint project of FedEx and the Christmas Spirit Foundation (the charitable branch of the National Christmas Tree Association). The program provides free, farm-grown Christmas trees to members of the U.S. armed forces and their families. Pictured here are U.S. Army soldiers at Dull’s Tree Farm, helping package Christmas trees from farms across the state for shipment to American servicemen and women in Guam. Dull’s Tree Farm is operated by Farm Bureau members Tom and Kerry Dull. An estimated 19,000 trees are expected to be donated this year to approximately 65 U.S. military bases. These trees will come from 400 or more farms nationwide. Photo by Jay A. Wood
