Indiana Farm Bureau
NEWS RELEASE
Indiana Farm Bureau presented Rep. Larry Bucshon with a “Friend of Farm Bureau” award today. Bucshon represents Indiana’s 8th Congressional District, which encompasses all or portions of Clay, Daviess, Gibson, Greene, Knox, Martin, Owen, Parke, Pike, Posey, Sullivan, Vanderburgh, Vermillion, Vigo, Warrick, Crawford, Dubois, Perry and Spencer counties.
Friend of Farm Bureau recipients are first nominated by their state Farm Bureau organization, and are then approved by the American Farm Bureau Federation’s board of directors.
During the presentation, INFB President Randy Kron noted that Bucshon has a 100 percent voting record on American Farm Bureau priorities in the 114th Congress. Bucshon has been supportive of trade and biotechnology, more specifically the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement and the GMO labeling bill.
Serving on the Energy and Commerce Committee, Bucshon opposed ill-conceived regulations, such as EPA’s Waters of the U.S. and Clean Power Plan, which represent government overreach beyond congressional intent.
Bucshon’s Friend of Farm Bureau award is separate from his general election endorsement by Indiana Farm Bureau ELECT, the nonpartisan political action committee associated with Indiana Farm Bureau.
