President Trump expressed confidence Monday that the “phase one” trade deal between the U.S. and China will be ready to be signed in November.
“We call it Phase One, but it’s a very big portion. That would take care of the farmers and it will take care of some of the other things,” Trump said. “So we are, I would say, a little bit ahead of schedule—maybe a lot ahead of schedule.”
Despite Trump’s positive tone, many farmers and commodity traders remain cautious about the agreement.
