Direct cash cattle markets are quiet. Asking prices are $108 live and $180 dressed. A few bids are reported at $101 live, but packer inquiry remains light and widespread business might not develop until Thursday or Friday. The industry continues to monitor trade negotiations and the fallout from that fire at the Tyson plant in Kansas.
Boxed beef at midday was mixed with moderate to heavy movement. Choice was down $1.68 at $235.08 and Select was up $.50 at $211.21.
