Direct cash cattle trade is at a standstill again through midday today. The showlists this week are higher across all feeding areas. Asking prices have been floated at $108 live in the South and $178 plus in the North. Bids have yet to surface. Packer inquiry is expected to improve as the day progresses. But, it is very likely a standoff is brewing and we won’t see significant trade volume develop until late in the day Thursday or into Friday.
