Minnesota’s U.S. Senators are touting USDA grants they say
will help reduce energy costs for farmers.
Democrats Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith issued a joint
release announcing more than 50 state projects will receive support through the
Rural Energy for America Program (REAP).
Klobuchar says REAP grants help Minnesotans develop renewable
energy projects to increase the productivity and efficiency of their farms and
operations.
Smith says the Minnesota ag community needs help during
these tough economic times, and helping farmers cut energy costs is one of the
steps that should be taken.
