During the next 5 days, significant rainfall will be focused along and east of a line from the central Gulf Coast to New England. Some of the heaviest rain will continue to fall in the eastern Gulf Coast States, particularly across northern Florida. A separate area of occasional rain will stretch from the east-central Plains into the mid-South. In contrast, little or no rain will fall through week’s end in the upper Great Lakes region, much of Texas, and large sections of the western U.S.
