Missouri Governor Mike Parson had strong words of
encouragement this morning for farmers. Brownfield’s Julie Harker reports from
the Governor’s Ham Breakfast at the Missouri State Fair…
Parson says last year Missouri farmers were suffering a major toll on crops, cattle and pasture from severe drought and this year it’s severe storms and flooding.
“But just like the exhibitors that faced a drought during
the first state fair in 1901 we have met these difficult circumstances with grit,
determination, good will – and we have fought back with blood, sweat and tears.”
Parson says the state is working on rebuilding infrastructure, revitalizing farm ground and refocusing the flood control priorities.
