An extension educator is recommending dairy farmers take
inventory of their corn silage crop now and get a plan in place to source feed
if needed.
“We need to be thinking about if we’re going to buy this, how might we price it? It can be as complicated or as simple as you want.”
Jim Salfer with the University of Minnesota suggests pricing seven to eight times the value of a bushel of corn as a value for a ton of corn silage.
