The EPA is providing over three million dollars in Farmer to Farmer grants to three Iowa-based projects that are working to improve water quality, habitat, and environmental education.
Practical Farmers of Iowa was awarded 936-thousand dollars for its project entitled “Roots for Water Quality: A Farmer-to-Farmer Model for a Sustainable Mississippi Basin”. The University of Iowa received a million dollars for “Connecting Rural and Peri-urban Farmers to Demonstrate and Disseminate Innovative Nutrient and Sediment Reduction Practices”.
