The USDA tightened the new crop balance sheet for rice, while the raising ending stocks projection for cotton.
New crop rice ending stocks are seen at 47.2 million hundredweight, compared to 50.5 million in July and 50.6 million for 2018/19 with lower beginning stocks and production canceling out a slight decrease in the domestic use guess. The average farm price is now pegged at $12.20 per hundredweight, up $.80 on the month and up $.10 from the recently ended marketing year.
