At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live cattle futures saw moderate gains ahead of widespread direct cash business, a positive beef export sales report, and firm wholesale values during the session. Feeder cattle were higher on the same factors. August live cattle closed $.35 higher at $107.95 and October live cattle closed $.30 higher at $106.75. August feeder cattle closed $.30 higher at $139.85 and September feeder cattle closed $.50 higher at $139.87.
A fairly quiet day for direct cash cattle trade.
