The Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) says data compiled by the state of Minnesota shows the marketplace is responding positively to the lifting of the summertime barrier on E15 sales.
The Minnesota report shows E15 sales in June—the first month after the E15 restriction was eliminated—were significantly higher when compared to June of 2018. The number of Minnesota stations selling E15 also increased by 18 percent during that period.
But RFA says the report also shows that Small Refinery Exemptions granted to oil refiners are suppressing more rapid expansion of E15 and other higher-level ethanol blends.
