Soybeans were modestly higher on short covering and technical buying following an up and down day. The trade is waiting to see what’s next with China, while unknown destinations bought 165,000 tons of new crop U.S. beans. Old crop sales remain slow, with less than a month left in the marketing year. That sale probably is not headed to China, with Beijing’s tariff on U.S. beans still in place and recent confirmation Chinese companies have stopped buying U.S.
