The USDA’s
latest good to excellent ratings for Illinois crops are 41% for corn and 40%
for soybeans.
As of
Sunday, corn silking reached 81%, up from 59% the previous week, but still
behind the average of 97%.
Soybeans blooming reached 72%, up 20 percentage points from the previous week, but behind the average of 90%. Thirty percent of Illinois soybeans are setting pods.
Below average rainfall for the state has topsoil moisture under 50% adequate to surplus.
