Archer Daniels Midland has joined the plant-based bandwagon.
A Dow Jones report says ADM is considering plant-based meat to offset what ADM
calls “challenging external conditions” including trade tensions with
China and that country’s African swine fever outbreak. ADM calls plant-based
meat a fast-growing consumer trend creating long-term growth opportunities.
The analytical firm Barclays estimates the plant-based or lab-made meat market could
climb to $140 billion in the next 10 years.
Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods have recently unveiled products for grocery
stores and for restaurants.
