Farmers continue to face crop production
challenges, but the Indiana State Fair provides an opportunity to highlight the
importance of the agriculture industry.
Indiana Congressman Jim Baird met with farmers at the Indiana Pork ham breakfast this morning.
“Farmers and agriculture in general are optimistic people and you always have another year to look forward to,” he says. “This has certainly been a most unusual year, but none the less we look forward to the next year and we’re happy with what we have this year.”
Indiana Senator Todd Young, who also
spoke with farmers at the fair, says he’s doing what he can to support farmers
impacted by the planting season.
